My mind races with new ideas for paintings and sculptures. Some are visions of imagined things I wish to bring to life through art, but many of the ideas come from the materials themselves.

I use recycled products for myriad reasons – cost, availability, and environmental considerations – but the main reason is that they are my sources of inspiration. I look at things from a unique perspective. I see the beauty in everyday objects often taken for granted, not only when being used for their initial purpose but are easily and quickly discarded when they are no longer needed or useful.

The objects I create rise out of a childhood spent looking at broken windows, cracked door frames and discarded beer bottle caps, seeing not what had been but what it could be. I morph life’s discards into something beautiful and intriguing and maybe to remind people of the importance of looking at things from a different angle every now and again.
